Jesse Martin — LPC, NCC, CAADC
My name is Jesse Martin, and I’m the owner and practitioner at Your Story Counseling, LLC. I ‘m thankful for the opportunity to work with people in all walks of life as they navigate their stories. I’m married and have five children, and we enjoy traveling and spending time engaging in sports and outdoor activities. Before becoming a counselor, I worked as a landscaper and then a truck driver. There are many things I value that guide my life privately and professionally, the most important include my relationship with Jesus, my family, and a desire to see people living life well.
My counseling theme verse is Proverbs 4:23. It reminds us that the condition of the heart shapes the direction of an entire life . A truly guarded heart isn’t built on self‑protection alone but is strengthened, healed, and guided by God’s presence and truth. When God anchors the heart, it becomes a steady source of clarity, resilience, and life‑giving choices.
1. A heart guarded by God’s truth. This heart is shaped, corrected, and steadied by Scripture and the Holy Spirit. It leads to clarity, humility, peace, and choices rooted in wisdom rather than emotion or impulse.
2. A heart guided by our own understanding. This path relies on feelings, fears, and personal interpretations, which easily drift toward blame, defensiveness, and distorted narratives. It often produces confusion, conflict, and repeated patterns that keep us stuck.
